International disability rights activist
Judith Heumann is an international disability rights activist who served in the Obama and Clinton administrations. She is the author of Being Heumann: An Unrepentant Memoir of a Disability Rights Activist. She was featured in Crip Camp: A Disability Revolution, a 2020 award-winning documentary film, directed by James LeBrecht and Nicole Newnham, produced by Barack and Michelle Obama’s Higher Ground Productions company. As a senior fellow at the Ford Foundation, she wrote Road Map for Inclusion: Changing the Face of Disability in Media.
