Doha Debates Ambassador 2024
Bayan Kayyali is an undergraduate student at Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service in Qatar, majoring in international politics and minoring in history. Bayan has a keen interest in the history, political development and prospects of the Middle East and North Africa region. She is critical of political, legal and media-production frameworks that have been weaponized against this region, which she touched on during her participation in the Doha Debates town hall “Orientalism Demystified: Eastern insights on Western myths.” However, she remains optimistic that increased youth engagement within these spheres can bring about transformative change.
