Fatema Alzelzela founded EcoStar, an initiative that recycles waste in exchange for trees and plants. Since 2019, EcoStar has recycled 140 metric tons of waste. For her environmental advocacy, the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) named her a Young Champion of the Earth in 2020.
