Should we embrace aging or try to engineer it away?
In many modern societies where youth, speed and self-optimization are rewarded, aging begins to look like something we need to solve. But is it actually a problem?
Some argue that old age is a meaningful stage of life, emphasizing the value of lived experience and intergenerational communication. They worry that treating aging as problematic can negatively impact how societies value older people. Others see longevity research as a moral opportunity and even a moral duty, arguing that science can (and should) extend our healthy life spans and reduce suffering.
In this episode, expert guests Michael Hauskeller, Dr. Natasha Vita-More, Dr. Thalia Arawi and Dr. Alaa Murabit join moderator Nadir Nahdi to debate how we should handle the aging process—with acceptance, or with scientific intervention.
