Amine Ouchari lives in an indefinite and dangerous limbo. One of 26 million refugees worldwide, Amine left Morocco for Greece in search of a better life. Instead, he’s been denied asylum and working papers.
This short film, the third of four in our Music for Good series, follows Amine as he builds a community in a new country and tries to secure his own safety. He uses music and lyrics to share his experience as a refugee, and works with fellow musicians at Musikarama, an open-access music education space, to give voice to others in similar situations.
“Music Beyond Borders: Amine” was directed by Zoi Stavridi-Michalopoulou and Joe O’Connor, and produced in partnership with Muzungu Producciones.
