Are we facing the end of civilization or its rebirth?

S2 E7 138 MINS

From Ibn Khaldun to Marx, great thinkers have argued that every civilization carries the seeds of its own downfall. Does this hold true of our modern world?

Exploring cyclical patterns of history and the specific challenges we face today, this episode asks whether we are witnessing civilization’s collapse or renewal. Is our modern-day focus on individualism, technology and comfort leading to decline, or does this mark a pivotal moment in a larger global cycle? Does globalization make us more vulnerable or more resilient? Does technology deepen isolation or offer salvation? Or is this neither the end nor the beginning, but a transitional moment where terms like “civilization” fail to capture our global reality?
