Should we engineer a world without disability? (English)

62 MINS
Cutting-edge medical and genetic technologies are advancing so quickly that we can now engineer elements of our future. These technologies raise significant ethical, moral and legal questions, and for people with disabilities, those questions can be a matter of their very existence. Do we have a moral obligation to use these technologies to eliminate traits that could lead to disability? Or is it our responsibility to acknowledge and embrace genetic diversity by restricting how these technologies are used? Doha Debates’ town hall-style conversation asks: Should we engineer a world without disability?
