Evgeny Morozov

Theorist and Publisher, The Syllabus

About Evgeny Morozov

Belarusian-born author, researcher, and thinker best known for his critical analysis of the political and social implications of technology. He first gained international attention through his writings on the intersection of the internet, politics, and society. Morozov’s early work focused on the role of digital tools in authoritarian regimes, where he questioned the widespread assumption that the internet naturally promotes democracy.

Evgeny Morozov founded The Syllabus (a knowledge curation platform) and its associated non-profit, The Center for the Advancement of Infrastructural Imagination.

He holds a PhD in History of Science from Harvard University and has written for The New Yorker, London Review of Books, New Left Review, Le Monde Diplomatique and other publications.

He is the author of The Net Delusion (2011) and To Save Everything, Click Here (2013).
