About Nuurrianti Jalli

Dr. Nuurrianti Jalli is an assistant professor at the School of Media and Strategic Communications at Oklahoma State University and a visiting research fellow at ISEAS Yusof Ishak Institute in Singapore. Dr. Jalli is one of the leading experts on digital media manipulation, computational propaganda and platform governance in Southeast Asia, with particular emphasis on Malaysia and Indonesia. Her research methodology combines quantitative, qualitative and computational approaches to examine social media discourse, cyber troop operations, state-sponsored disinformation campaigns and the impact of technology on democracy. She has authored “Misguided Democracy in Malaysia and Indonesia: Digital Propaganda in Southeast Asia,” and published groundbreaking research on TikTok activism, AI-generated propaganda and ethnoreligious rhetoric during elections.
