Qurban Ali Hussaini
Doha Debates Ambassador 2024
Qurban Ali Hussaini is a high school graduate from Afghanistan who currently lives in Kabul. He studied social sciences, math and physics in school, and in his free time, he loves reading, biking and listening to music. Qurban is the founder of the International Students STEM Organization (ISSO), which organized a science video competition with participants from four countries, and led a fundraising campaign to support Afghan girls deprived of education by helping them afford internet costs to study STEM subjects online. He is also the co-founder of the Youth Voice Network, which invites successful Afghans to share their stories to motivate youth and help them identify educational opportunities. Qurban is excited to be a Doha Debates ambassador because his passion lies in international relations and political science, and participation in this program offers him the opportunity to deepen his understanding of these fields. Additionally, he is eager to meet people from different nations and build an international network. Through the program, Qurban hopes to gain insights into global perspectives on current issues and develop skills in diplomacy and debate, which are crucial for a future career in international relations.
