About Sara Akbar

Sara Akbar is an undergraduate cybersecurity student at University of Doha for Science and Technology. Born and raised in Qatar, Sara is from Swabi, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. She studied math, physics and computer science extensively in school, and in her free time, she loves to participate in debate competitions, practice hacking, read books, learn languages, write scripts and watch TV shows and debates. Sara is proudest of consecutively winning high-school debate tournaments for years, speaking five languages fluently (and learning more) and  creating opportunities for Pashtun girls back at home, as her family has been doing for years. She hopes to become an international cyber-crime investigator or compliance enforcement officer, and create to a nonprofit organization supporting children around the world. Sara is excited to be a Doha Debates ambassador because of the opportunity to meet and engage with different people—”different” in the sense of views and beliefs—and hopes to increase knowledge, spread awareness and evoke a change in the world’s youth.
