Sonia Platonova
Doha Debates Ambassador 2024
Sofia Platonova (Sonia) is an undergraduate student pursuing a dual degree in international relations and business administration at IE University in Spain. Originally from Saint Petersburg, Russia, she currently lives in Madrid. Sonia studies subjects spanning business and global politics. In her free time, she immerses herself in the world of Model UN, watches Formula 1 or travels to explore new regions, languages and cultures. Sonia is proudest of serving as a secretary general for the Saint Petersburg International Model United Nations and representing IE University at MENA Climate Week in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. In the future, she hopes to make an impact by working in intergovernmental organizations and potentially running a social enterprise. Sonia is excited to be a Doha Debates ambassador because it is an opportunity to be surrounded by and learn from a diverse range of like-minded and aspirational individuals, and dive deep into challenging conversations about complex global issues.
